In the Enchanted Garden,
a solo presentation by Sandi Daniel
Sandi was awarded this solo exhibition by Emily Belz, in her roll as juror for our 6th Annual Juried Member Exhibition last year. The award provides an open invitation to assemble a body of work for a solo exhibition in the following year.
Sandi ‘s work explores the more physical aspects of photographic prints on paper, and often involves a process of constructing or assembling printed paper into images. Her process, for this body of work, is more reminiscent of paper dolls, than more traditional collage methods. Using a variety of alternative processes, in this case primarily Cyanotype, she borrows from textile and book making techniques to craft her pieces.

Artist Statement: In the Enchanted Garden
My work explores the divine feminine through the lens of alternative photography, weaving mythology, spirituality, and surreal imagery into a visual dialogue. Inspired by goddesses from diverse cultures, I seek to reimagine their presence in a contemporary context. Using the photographic process of cyanotype I embrace imperfection, texture, and organic transformations to evoke a sense of mysticism. This alternative method allows me to create dreamlike portraits that feel timeless—images that transcend the boundaries of past and present, reality and myth.
Each photograph is a manifestation of feminine power, mystery, and transformation. By capturing the goddess archetype in different forms, I invite viewers to reconnect with their own sense of divinity, strength, and intuition. Through light and shadow, alchemy and process, my work honors the enduring spirit of the goddess in all her manifestations.
