living and working on the Coast
The Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts presents a look at Coastal Rhode Island from a selection of Supporting Members who live and work on the coast. This exhibition is hosted at the J. Howard McGrath Judicial Complex in Wakefield, RI as part of their Supreme Courts Art in the Courthouse exhibition series. The series was launched in 2002 with the goal of bringing original and vibrant art to the somber courthouse walls for the spring and summer months.
This exhibition brings together work from members Cate Brown, Kathleen Caswell, David DeMelim, Paul Murray & Cindy Wilson presenting their reflections on Coastal Rhode Island.
From end to end Rhode Island is made up of some 400 miles of coastline compressed into an area just 37 miles wide and 40 miles long, packed with beaches, marinas, nature preserves and a long maritime history. This exhibition brings together member photographers from the Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts to present some of the highlights and surprises found in our coastal communities.
