Welcome to 2024…
As we welcome in the new year, we want to thank our Members and Visitors for supporting us another great year, happily this applies equally to the year just ended and the new year just beginning, Membership continues to grow and our exhibition schedule is overflowing as we launch new programs and member opportunities.
To start off on a positive note, we have extended the deadline for our 10th International Call with juror, Karen Haas, Lane Senior Curator of Photographs at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston
A number of members have told us that a January 6th entry deadline was unrealistic, between family commitments, travel and general holiday disruptions to normal work habits… We listened and have pushed the entry deadline out to Midnight, January 16th.
The Gallery is currently closed, and will reopen on January 18th with the opening of our 5th Annual Juried Member exhibition. Also coming in January is our next Featured Member presentation with a selection of work from Keith Prue. a long time member, supporter and talented photographer. The Featured Member is a new program that provides a dedicated space in our gallery to showcase member work alongside our regular exhibitions. Featured work will be on display in the gallery for two months and include an expanded online profile. As a reminder, results have been posted and emailed for our 5th Annual Juried Member exhibition that will start the new year’s exhibition cycle… If you entered work, check your email for the status of your entry, a list of Members with work accepted is included below and on the Call for Entry webpage Accepted work is due in the gallery by January 13th. We hope you’ll join us for the opening reception on January 18th as we start the new year with this celebration of our members.
2024 looks to be a busy year with a number of new programs and exhibitions added to our schedule in addition to some long running favorites. Our next installment of “Behind the Lens” is coming together for an opening on February 15, and will be followed in March by our annual overview of contemporary photographic practice, presented from work submitted to our 10th Annual International Open Call.
We are excited to have Karen Haas as the juror for our 10th International Call for Entries. Entry details for this showcase of Contemporary Photography are available online. As we start the new year, I really hope you don’t miss this chance to put your work in front of Karen Haas, Lane Senior Curator of Photographs at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston
