Update from the Director…
For April 2021 we are excited to announce a host of new programs and collaborations with a focus on our Members. We are releasing our first limited edition portfolio to commemorate our journey and help fund upcoming programing. The portfolio is available for purchase in very limited numbers and will be on display in the gallery as part of our invitational Member exhibition opening on April 15th. The exhibition, Members: Stronger Together brings together a selection of Supporting Member work first shared online as we navigated 2020 together.
We are also opening an invitational exhibition to present a look at Coastal Rhode Island from a group of Members who live and work there. This exhibition will be hosted at the McGrath Judicial Complex in Wakefield, RI. The exhibition runs from April through September with a public reception scheduled for September 11th and provides the opportunity to present member work in the community.
And… for members and non-members alike we are excited to be working with both Kat Kiernan, Editor-in-Chief of the photography magazine Don’t Take Pictures and Jan Howard, Curator of Prints, Drawings and Photographs at the RISD Museum on two separate calls for entries that we are releasing early for exhibitions in August and September… see links below for more information.
Our schedule continues as a mix of both live and online exhibitions and hope to see more of you in person as the year progresses. Read on for details and links to the events mentioned above and some additional events at the Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts.
