A conversation with Deirdre Salvas:

Deirdre, who was a featured artist in our recent Journeys Onward exhibition with her series, The Ripple Felt Then and Now will be speaking about her military service, her family history of military service and her varied career path from RF Transmissions Systems Specialist to Public Affairs photojournalist for the National Guard and a few steps in between. The Journeys Onward exhibition https://www.riphotocenter.org/journeys-onward-exhibition/  was mounted as part of RICPA’s broader veterans initiative to foster communication and understanding between and among the military and civilian communities.

The exhibition, juried by Mick Cochran explored the photographic artistic expression of veterans and their families in the context of their military experiences.  Many veterans and their families want to tell their stories, and we are providing a platform to continue the conversation…
