It’s been a busy Spring at the Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts and I want to take this time to share a few recent events and announce a few upcoming programs.
Currently, in the galleries, we have Stephan Brigidi’s “ROME 1970’s” a selection of B&W photographs from his forthcoming book and “Cuba: Beyond the Romance” a selection of my own work exploring lesser seen scenes of daily life in Cuba. – Travel the world right here in our Galleries, on view through June 15th.
In a successful attempt to engage with a younger audience we have been hosting PopUp shows featuring the work of area college students between our regular Gallery Night Schedule. To build on this success we have rolled out a Student Membership, renewable for two years after graduation. A special thanks to all the members who came out to support these rising talents.
Members Community Show & Print Share
Moving forward, I am delighted to announce we are in the process of putting together an Open Members Show. It will be our first Community Show, free and open to all paid members. Memberships can be purchased or renewed through our website. Registration is free and will enable you to set up your member profile and manage membership benefits. Read more about the call for submissions and consider submitting your work.
During the show, we will be running a series of events designed to give you the opportunity to meet fellow members and learn more about upcoming plans at the Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts. Scheduled events will include a Print Share, an Open House, and presentations on upcoming exhibition opportunities. Other activities in the planning stages for June include our next round of Portfolio Reviews.
