The Center has been a busy place this summer, highlights include presenting Rome of the 1970’s by Stephan Brigidi, our well received First Community Members Show, and a PopUp Memorial show to celebrate the work of local photojournalist John C. Meyers. We have expanded our exhibition space and are currently hosting a solo show for Ron Rosenstock, on view through August 10th.
Mid-Summer Updates and Exhibition Opportunities
We are excited to announce that Annu Palakunnathu Matthew will be the juror for our first Juried Member’s show. The call is live on our website or can be accessed through a Facebook event @RIPhotoArts. Entry is free for members at the exhibiting level or higher, $20 for Community Members. The entries are being accepted through August 27th for a show opening September 20th. This members show will share the gallery with a solo presentation of “Balancing Cultures” by Jerry Takigawa. I hope you’ll all come to welcome Jerry to Providence.
We have partnered with One Gun Gone to raise funds to support a gun buy back program. Our next Open Call Exhibition is being prepared for an opening on November 15th, details to follow.
